Am I required to get a website maintenance plan?
Website maintenance plans are required unless you purchase a Lifetime Website. Most business owners do not have the time to keep up with the ever-changing software and digital marketing trends so having someone who keeps up-to-date on WordPress and Google updates and knows how to update the website without doing something that will negatively affect performance. For example, adding images that are the wrong size that can slow down the website and affect Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Can I make changes to the website myself?
You can but since most people do not know what affects their site negatively as far as optimization or what can make it less secure, the hack-free guarantee that is included will no longer apply and there will be a charge if your website needs additional work to optimize it, make it secure, or fix a hack and remove malicious code.
How soon are changes made to the site once requested?
Changes are sorted by priority level. If a website is down or has been hacked then changes or fixes are done as fast as possible and typically in a few hours and no longer than 24 hours. Routine changes or additions to content typically take 1-3 business days.
Content Marketing
Who writes blogs for my site?
You can write and provide blogs or new content for your site or I can write blogs for you. For property management companies, you have the option to receive and have two blogs posted monthly to your site for an additional fee. The blogs for property managers are all the same so the content is not unique. For service providers in others industries, custom content is written and the cost depends on the number of words. For two custom blogs monthly with 500-750 words, the cost is $350. You can do it as a monthly subscription and payment or buy a certain amount at once and have them scheduled out in the future.
Who writes page content for my website?
To get your new website up and running, minimal content is added to the pages you choose. You can provide your own content if you like at any time which can be added.
Can I use my own photos for the website?
Of course! Websites are better the more custom they are to your business. Higher size and quality files are preferred and I will resize as needed and optimize so the file size will no adversely affect your website speed which can affect your rank on Google. If you only have low-quality files, unfortunately, it’s impossible to make them higher-quality so we will need to work with what you have but may not be able to display it at certain sizes without it looking pixelated.
Do you have stock photos that can be used on the website?
Yes. I have many stock photos that are copyright free or come with a copyright to be able to use on your website. If you provide a photo that is copyrighted without having permission to use it on your website, I do not take any responsibility for any legal issues that might arise from your use of copywritten content (text or images) on your website.
Website Security
What happens if my website is hacked?
I will fix the website for no additional charge unless you or your staff have access. If you request a login and have access then there will be a charge based on how bad the hack is and how long it takes to fix it. Typically, fixing a website hack costs $300-$1000 but it can be more.
Is my website secure?
Yes, an SSL certificate is provided and maintained with all websites built and hosted by me.
Website Accessibility
Are websites you build ADA compliant?
There are multiple levels of compliance and the websites I build are built to the AA compliance level which covers almost all service providers. Accessibility guidelines continuously change as well and I update your site when the guidelines change. If you request access to your site and can make changes then I have no control over changes you make that may make it not comply so I cannot guarantee that your site is accessible if you or your staff have access.
Website Pricing
Am I required to get a website maintenance plan?
I do require clients to get a website maintenance plan since I believe it’s in their best interest. Most people who are not full-time web designers don’t always know what they don’t know and don’t maintain their websites on an ongoing basis which leads to issues with performance and security.
If you do not want to have a monthly bill, then I offer a Lifetime Website currently (limited number available) that you can pay once and receive updates and changes forever with no monthly charge.
Do you offer credits for referrals?
I offer 10% off your monthly bill for every new client you refer. Once you refer ten new clients then you will pay nothing for your website monthly unless a client cancels. The credits are applied as long as your referrals stay clients but are removed if they cancel.
Do you design custom websites?
Please contact me so we can discuss your project and see if I’m a good fit for your custom website build. Custom website pricing depends on the complexity, functionality, and size of the site and starts at $2500 for a 5-10 page brochure website or $5,000-$8,000 for WooCommerce websites.
